Palm-nut Diner

Open all day, everyday, the African Palm-nut Tree in my garden hosts a variety of diners:

Purple (Violet) Glossy Starling noted for its iridescent purple, blue, green plumage and yellow eyes. (Bottom right with palm-nut in beak.)

African Gray Hornbill and pair ( right photo, left Hornbill with palm-nut).

Green Wood Hoopoe in Tropical Almond Tree and Palm-nut Tree. This Hoopoe is identified by its long black and white spotted tail and orange/red curved beak.

Western Gray Plantain-eater

Double-toothed Barbet in Frangipangi tree

Senegal Parrot in Tropical Almond Tree

My favorite: Senegal Coucal. A handsome bird with black tail, whitish underparts, chocolate-brown back, and red eyes. When I hear its call ‘click…click’ , it is chasing after a cat quite annoyed and fearlessly.
