Boulgatanga

Ever heard of the town in Ghana

that sounds like two women sharing a man?

Ever heard of a word with two meanings

that calls you to dance close then to can-can?

A name of a town so rare to the world

that it drifts on a map like a maroon dragonfly.

A name that sways to a perpetual beat

but is never heard from the outside.

Boulgatanga suffers from jealousy,

it catches you unaware like ghosts that bring fever

then cooled by the breeze of night air.
